Status updates via twitter

After 25 days of no EC2 issues there have now been 3 failures in the last 24 hours including one 10 minutes ago. There has always been at least one of the sip1 or sip2 up at all times during this latest batch of outages so people with SIP clients that support SRV records should not have noticed any issues.

When an outage occurs I get an email and SMS alert and if I’m in the vicinity will reboot the inaccessible EC2 instance to restore it to service, generally that process can take about 30 minutes. If I’m not in the vicinity it will obviously be longer.

For anyone that wants to track the actions I take to recover from failures I’ve created a sipsorcery twitter account where I will post messages relating to the service status.

    I tried today (03/01 since noon) to log into my Sipsoorcery account in no avail. There’s no place to input login username and password. Do you know why? Thanks.

      Most likely a Silverlight plugin issue. Try opening in IE.

        I tried to open page “https://www.sipsorcery.com/sipsorcery.html” as I did before, what I get is as follows:

        =========================================
        “Server Error in ‘/’ Application
        ——————————————————
        Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

        Requested URL: /sipsorcery.html”
        =========================================

        Both Firefox and IE-7/8 gave me the same results. I checked Silterlight plug in and it looks like fine. I also tried using the computer at work and home, the results are the same.

        BTW, I am logging in from USA.

        Can you try the same web page to see what happens? Thanks.

        That’s not the location of the sipsorcery web site since moving it to Windows Azure, you need to use http://www.sipsorcery.com if you get redirected from there it’s your browser’s cache (http://www.sipsorcery.com/home will work as well).

          Sipsorcery is not initialising for me this morning. Both lines on my PAP2T were out until I bypassed sipsorcery and put the sip providers directly into my PAP2T configuration. Of course, since I use the sipgate-ss-gv dialplan, this means no free outbound calling. Any word on ss status?
